SUPPORT COACH:
Jody Bernat has worked with numerous individuals, couples and families to support them through their oft-times difficult journey to well-being. Utilizing positive affirmations, building a tool chest and providing insight, she is able to give essential support, creating a hopeful experience. KEYNOTE SPEAKER: Jody presents on the effects to youth from today's marijuana. Her informative presentation includes a film clip, slides and Q&A, featuring the latest in data and science. She helps illustrate the dangers to the developing brain when using high potency cannabis. She speaks to teens, adults, families, seminars, coalitions, prevention professionals, in-service trainings, among others. CREATIVE ARTIST:GRAPHIC ARTS/CALLIGRAPHY With a background in graphic design and calligraphy, Jody creates logos, brochures, content and other design features. She is an accomplished writer having published articles, books and collateral materials. As a singer/songwriter, she has two CDs of original music (she has been writing songs since the age of 11 years old.) Her work background includes touring with rocker Rod Stewart as his press agent on a world tour. She has produced three documentaries. The Other Side of Cannabis earned First Place in a Los Angeles Film Festival. Jody is an accomplished graphic artist and calligrapher, notably creating artwork for the Emmy Awards, the SLO Mozart Festival (5 years), and numerous other professional projects. INTERESTS: An avid hiker, Jody completed the Camino de Santiago 500 mile trek across Spain. She plays competitive pickleball, golfs, quilts, gardens and continues to create artwork. She has competed in a number of half-marathons and triathlons (notably the Wildflower Triathlon), speaks conversant French and is determined to learn Spanish. Jody proudly raised three beautiful children and now is blessed with seven wonderful grandchildren. In her spare time she enjoys long walks with her dog, especially on the beach.
